Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act under the authority of the Chapters Director (CD) to coordinate and control any related activities to streamline the process of all projects being handled by the Chapters Department.
- Facilitate communication between the CD and all other relevant departments within Georgia FirstGen.
- Assist the CD in developing and maintaining a Student Chapter manual to include, but not limited to, Chapters constitution, bylaws, requirements, and student guidelines
- Relate information and coordinate with the Marketing department to develop pertinent marketing materials for the promotion of Georgia FirstGen Programs, at the discretion of the CD.
- Coordinate and schedule all Chapter Department meetings. Chapter coordinator is expected to be present at all meetings whenever possible. Calendar priority will be given to Chapter coordinator and CD.
- Create all meeting agendas and take meeting notes.
- Gather, compile, and send frequent status updates from Georgia FirstGen directors to the CD.
- Compile and update school database to include, but not limited to counselor's contact information, interested schools, active chapter information, etc.
- Acquire knowledge related to multiple departments within the Operations Department.
- Support strategic partnerships by providing exceptional advice, facilitating effective knowledge management, and assisting with project planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting with any departmental collaboration.
- Implement any ad-hoc project request with the approval of the Chapters Director.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate of ethical and moral character
- Preferably a college student or young professional
- Strong commitment to Georgia FirstGen's mission and values
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in Education, Youth Development, Mentorship, Communication, Advising
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable calling and coordinating information with other team members & students
- Energetic, personable, and creative with an ability to relate well to diverse populations
- Deadline oriented and able to take initiative with tasks and projects
- Able to plan and manage multiple projects and deadlines with high attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills and able to delegate tasks to fellow team members
- Preferably proficient in Slack, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Social Media platforms
- Google Docs, Sheets, Forms/Excel, Word Doc, PowerPoint, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
